Umar Hayat is a community advocate, real estate professional, and proud Winnipegger who has called this city home for decades. He holds an MBA in Marketing from the American International College and has been active in community service, volunteering with organizations such as Winnipeg Harvest, Siloam Mission, and St. Amant.
Driven by a passion for public service, Umar has worked to engage with residents and understand their concerns about public safety, housing affordability, homelessness, addiction, and economic opportunity. He is running for Mayor because he believes Winnipeg can become a safer, smarter, and more affordable city for everyone.

Outside of work and community advocacy, Umar Hayat enjoys spending time with people across Winnipeg, playing soccer, supporting youth activities, volunteering, and attending local festivals and community events. He believes that staying connected with residents is the best way to understand the challenges and opportunities facing our city.
